Elkhorn rack live presentation at Festibike bikeshow Madrid

We want to give you a peek of when we recently oficially presented the new Elkhorn rack from Old Man Mountain. It was at the last bikeshow in Madrid (Festibike), held between September 9 and 11, 2022.

The Elkhorn is a multi-purpose tool, a slim and lightweight rack. Stable and secure with 3-pack mounts on the uprights for your favorite cargo or to carry water bottles. And more tie-down points on the top deck than you could ever need. The Elkhorn lets you feel the trail beneath you instead of the tail whipping behind you.

The Elkhorn comes in two sizes; Short and Tall. The Short is designed for 27.5 and 700c wheels. It fits tires up to 27.5 x 2.8″ or 700c x 50mm. The Tall is designed for bikes with 29″ tires. Fits up to 29 x 3.25″ tires.

Ready for Eyelets

The Elkhorn comes ready to mount to the eyelets. You can mount it front or rear as extenders in two sizes are included.

Front or Rear Ready

Extremely versatile, making the Elkhorn ready to use as a front or rear rack, and with our axle mounted fit kits the Elkhorn easily mounts to any rear axle or fork.

Slim and Lightweight
The Elkhorn is a slim and lightweight rack perfect for Bikepacking. It has a maximum recommended load of 25 lbs.

Fits Any Bike
The fit kits for thru axle or QR lock mounting make the Elkhorn compatible with almost any bike; road bike, gravel bike, dual suspension, or road bike. Regular bike or e-bike.

Top Deck Slots and Holes
The top deck measures 4″ x 10.5″ and includes slots for easy luggage strapping and holes for mounting a light.

Carries Water on the Sides
Elkhorn has 3 holes in the side legs so you can carry loads, CargoMounts or water bottles.

About the Axles

Elkhorn comes prepared for mounting in the eyelets of the frame. If you want to anchor to the axle you need a fit kit. The fit kit includes a new axle that replaces the axle on your bike. It is important that both have the same thread pitch and length. That is why we offer different fit kits.
