A Full Range of Saddlebags from Carradice

Saddlebags and Seatbags are bags that attach to the saddle of a bicycle.

Saddlebags and Seatbags are bags that attach to the saddle of a bicycle. Seatbags are usually smaller bags where you can put the essentials while you pedal. They have been used a lot in Spain by both road cyclists and mountain bikers. However, classic Saddlebags have never been very popular in our country until now. Partly because they generally require saddles to have rings to hang the bag straps, like Brooks saddles, and until a few years ago there were not many bicycles with Brooks saddles on the streets. However, the panorama is changing and we have detected that in the last year the demand for Saddlebags is growing. For that reason, below we will detail the different options offered by Carradice in terms of Saddlebags, a type of bag that Carradice has been manufacturing since 1929.

Saddlebags, the models

The Saddlebag is designed to hang from the back of the bicycle saddle. They come in different sizes, from 9 to 24 liters of capacity. With or without an outside pocket and also in a version called “Longflap”. In the case of the Carradice models, they are generally made of Cotton Duck and generally with leather straps. In the following photo all the different models.

Saddlebags, the use

Who, or what type of cyclist are the Carradice Classic Saddlebags designed for?
The Saddlebag can be used by MTB cyclists who do not want to mount a rear rack on their bike. It can be used by the urban cyclist to complement the classic look of his bike. Or, if you are just tired of that backpack, the Saddlebag is an excellent alternative.

Finally, Saddlebags are being used a lot for bikepacking, a modality where you go out with your bike with the minimum in order to be able to spend a night in the countryside.

Saddlebags, the LongFlap

Longflap means that the flap is extra long. When not in use it is folded inwards, but if you lengthen it you can carry packages on top of the bag but under the flap. Perfect, for example, for a thick jacket or a sleeping bag or a blanket if you are going bikepacking.

Saddlebags, the Bagman Support

Carradice offers the Bagman Support which primarily offers bag support if you are carrying a lot of weight. The second function of the Bagman is to be able to attach a Saddlebag even if your saddle does not have rings to hang the bag straps. The Bagman Sport works best with smaller bags while the Bagman Expedition works best for larger Saddlebags. The Bagman can be Standard or with QR. In our web shop you can see the options available.

Since 2004

We have been offering Carradice bags since the year 2004. And we have also sponsored riders like Sergio y Amelia on their many travels, for example when they crossed Iceland.
