Are Carradice bags waterproof?

Carradice’s traditional Cotton Duck fabric is naturally water-resistant and performs exceptionally well in wet weather. And the New Adventure Range bags are made from waterproof 1000 denier military-grade Cordura with a taped sealed lining.

Do I need a bag support for a Carradice saddlebag?
